Minneapolis – Let’s Check it Out!

I have a nephew and niece (and a grand-niece!) in Minneapolis; I haven’t been there yet, but I know I’ll go at some point. Here are some cool things I’ve found that I want to do while I’m there.

3 Attractions To Visit Around Minneapolis

Minneapolis, one half of the Twin Cities, looks like it’s full of entertainment and fun.  Here are three of the best things I’ve found to do during a visit to Minneapolis, Minnesota, among lots of other options.  You’ll want to go back again and again, and the city will welcome you with open doors!

I’ve never been in Minneapolis! Have you?

Minneapolis Sightseeing Riverboat Tours

Who hasn’t wanted to cruise on the Mississippi River? There are four different cruises, ranging from an hour and a half to two hours, and each offers its beautiful view of the city.  Running for fifty years, this company prides itself on providing the best tours and information.  Each boat can hold up to three hundred people, which means you’ll never be at a loss for company or conversation.  This cruise isn’t just for tourists either!  Many locals enjoy the discounted Monday cruises that come with a buy one get one free beer voucher so you can feel like you’re floating along with the boat…

This looks like so much fun! (I love water, of any kind!)

Minneapolis has many Escape Rooms…

Have you done an Escape Room? Minneapolis is well known to be a pretty brainy city, so it shouldn’t surprise me that this city has so many escape rooms. These rooms are games designed to let you try to figure out puzzles and mysteries to allow yourself and your friends to escape.  I’ve only tried one of these, in Albuquerque, and it was so much fun!! Most of these are fantastic rooms with alcohol and friends where you can collect clues to solve the mystery, play sleuths, and have fun.

Each Escape Room in Minneapolis has its own perks and intrigue, but the top ones are…

1. The Escape Game is a futuristic sixty-minute adventure.  Without giving away too much of the puzzle, this escape room guides you through the beginning with characters and then lets you loose in the chaos to solve the problem and save the day.  This room would be suitable for any players over thirteen and is very well thought out.

2. Trapped Puzzle Rooms is a scarier option.  This mystery is played out in a two-story building made to look like an older home.  This escape room is an excellent choice for teenagers, with all of the fun and mystery of a Sherlock Holmes story, but without any real reason to fear for your life.

3. Escape MSP is a puzzle full of secret passages, clocks, and dizzying clues.  Your first playthrough will leave you searching for Minneapolis houses for sale so you can try it again and see what you missed!

Each of these is a fantastic option, just don’t get lost on your way there!

Minnehaha Regional Park

The Minnehaha Regional Park looks great for walking or biking; and I’m a sucker for waterfalls!

You’ll want to spend every moment of your day at this park, and you almost can since it’s open for eighteen hours a day!  Minnehaha is a beautiful stretch of land south of the cities, that offers everything from disc golf to bike paths.  If you want to enjoy beautiful art, and also get to walk through gorgeous trails, you won’t be disappointed.

Although most parts of the park are developed to some degree, others still have the untouched natural charm that makes so many people fall in love with Minnesota.  This park shows off the state’s best, and gives visitors the chance to be a part of it.

  1. I have never been to Minneapolis, but the riverboat cruise sounds like a great way to explore the area. Hubby and I both love escape rooms… so that may be something we would try with the kids as well!

  2. I have been to Minneapolis once unfortunately it was only for a day. I think I was 15 and I only remember this cute little neighborhood that had a bunch of old shops I remember buying a Elvis Presley purse/backpack. I definitely don’t remember these places you’ve mention but if I i go back that riverboat sure looks fun and the waterfall in Minnehaha Regional park looks gorgeous!
