Fantastic news for Chase credit card holders!…groceries!

Update: October 1, 2020

Purchase patterns are changing with more people staying home right now due to Covid-19. So, banks are looking for ways to incentivize people to keep their credit cards.

The Chase Freedom Unlimited card and the new Flex card have no annual fee, give you a $200 bonus when you spend $500 in the first 3 months after you get the card, and earn 5x points (or cash back) for gasoline. (1.5x points on all other purchases)

In fact, you get 5x on gas for your entire first year!!

And…the Chase points are the best – very flexible, to use for travel, or cashback.

5% on Gas! – the Details

Earn 5% cash back or points on gasoline purchases, on up to $6,000 spent in the first year. This product is available to you if you do not have this card, and have not received a new cardmember bonus for this card in the past 24 months.

Plus: 5% Quarterly Bonuses for Flex

Earn 5% on up to $1,500 in combined purchases in BONUS CATEGORIES each quarter you activate. For October – December, the bonus categories are Walmart and PayPal.

And, Always Earning on both cards…

  • 5% on TRAVEL purchased through Chase Ultimate Rewards®.
  • 3% on DINING at restaurants, including takeout and eligible delivery services.
  • 3% on DRUGSTORE purchases.
  • 1% cash back on all other purchases (1.5% for the Unlimited card)

Plus! Chase Credit Journey is included for free; this helps you monitor your credit with free access to your latest score, real-time alerts, and more.

Low Intro APR

0% Intro APR for 15 months from account opening on purchases.
After that, 14.99% – 23.74% variable APR.

Personally, I am hoping that Chase keeps the 5% grocery category permanently! They didn’t, but now it’s 5% on gas! Hopefully, you’ll be able to maximize your savings and earnings; always check the current offers by clicking the links above.
We might not be traveling right now, but we can at least earn the points for our next trips a little bit faster with these additions…and Chase points are the best and most flexible for travel.

More on credit cards here. What do you think? Are you going to cash in on this?!?
